Question Title db4free.net now offers MySQL 6.0
Authored by: Thomas Darwin

Like in the old days, when db4free.net offered both MySQL 5.0 and 5.1 databases, we moved a step further and now offer MySQL 6.0 in addition to MySQL 5.1.

You don't have to register again to access your MySQL 6.0 database, it's already there. Simply connect to db4free.net, port 3307 in your MySQL client:

mysql -h db4free.net -P 3307 -u [your_username] -p[your_password]

or connect via.phpMyAdmin right from http://www.db4free.net. Your MySQL 5.1 database is still where it has been, so no changes have been made to your MySQL 5.1 database.

If you want to learn more about MySQL 6.0 and the new Falcon Storage Engine (which is the default Storage Engine on the new MySQL 6.0 server), visit http://forge.mysql.com/wiki /Falcon_Feature_Preview.

You may also want to try out the MySQL GUI Tools which you can download at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads /gui-tools/index.html - or test the new MySQL Workbench, which is available at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads /workbench/index.html.

Your feedback about MySQL 6.0 is welcome. Please send it to mysql-6.0-feedback@db4free.net or use the forum at http://www.db4free.net/forum/

Have fun and enjoy diving into the new MySQL 6.0
